We purchased this in lieu of a table top or road trip grill as a take along for our frequent summer RV trips. I didn't expect it to have a huge grilling surface but sacrificed that for the griddle, fryer and warmer. We have already unpacked it to get it ready for this Summer camping season and did cook burgers and dogs on it one night recently on the deck. Obviously it wasnt able to grill 6 pattys and 8 dogs at the same time but we made do. For the portability, convenience and resourcefulness, this will work out just fine. We used it with one of the 16.4 propane cylinders but I plan on buying the adapter to use with the larger tank for the summer trips.

I would recommend this to folks whos are looking to add to an existing outdoor cooking experience. If you are looking to get creative and will utilize the griddle, grill, warmer and deep fryer at the same time, you can really impress a group with this thing but if you are looking to grill steaks, chops, burgers, brauts for... 5.0 out of 5 stars Former Skeptic... Turned Biggest Fan, September 26, 2012
This review is from: Blacktop 360 HFI Premium Party Hub Grill/Fryer, Black/Blue (Lawn & Patio)
We committed to tailgating at all the home games this year, GO RAVENS! We are new to the party but wanted to do it right so we started searching for tailgating ideas online and came across the Blacktop 360. We passed on it for several reasons and honestly their marketing/ads are their own worst enemy. One of our biggest concerns was size and practicality. While at the same time we wanted something fun and different. AND THEN I came across one at our BJ's Wholesale Warehouse. Once we were able to get one in hand and check it out we decided to buy it, we could always take it back... We ended up going back and buying a second one!!

Talk about a huge hit and major conversation piece!! We grilled polish sausages, hot dogs, and burgers. And while it's true the grilling surface isn't huge (ie.. you're cooking 6-7 dogs/sausages and 3-4 burgers and no more at a time) it was hot, fast, and efficient. We used the warmer to keep it all ready to serve. We used the deep fryer to cook... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, July 22, 2012
This review is from: Blacktop 360 HFI Premium Party Hub Grill/Fryer, Black/Blue (Lawn & Patio)
This grill really is fun. Its easy to use, very portable, and really delivers on all of its promises. We got the grill a few months ago, and, motivated by the novelty, have really tried out all of the cooking options, including regular grilling (burgers, hot dogs, veggies, chicken), cooking on the griddle (great for eggs and pancakes for breakfast), warming (buns/keeping already cooked stuff warm), and, the best part -- the fryer. Makes great fries and onion rings, fish tacos, and all the usual suspects. The first time we used it, we found ourselves just throwing all sorts of things in the fryer just to see how they would turn out! And we're not usually big food-fryers -- we actually only deep fry things in the Blacktop360 because its easier to clean up than the kitchen. People love to stand around the thing and help/watch it cook, just because its different, and fun. So yeah, its a novelty, but its also well-designed and functional. Not a gimmick, a real grill. So far, the... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great option for motorcycle camping..., March 30, 2009

The Good:

I bought this grill for this summers motorcycle camping adventures. I can't think of a better use for this grill. Narrower main body section gives many options for tying down, and on my bike (a shadow 750) the bottom "foot hole" was able to go over and around my sissy bar and sit on my rack. Pretty sweet. 2 up camping now comes with a BBQ!

The Bad (at least for motorcycle camping):

It is a bit flimsy (but quite stable when open for grilling). With care, I am expecting to get about 50 or so BBQs out of it. After it falls apart I am planning to go to a metal shop in town and have it re-fabricated in some heaver gauge steel. I would be willing to have a little heaver (and smaller) grill for motorcycle camping if it was durable. The grilling surface is large. Expect to need about 3 pounds of charcoal to get it going well, 6 pounds (an entire small bag) of charcoal for a full grill to feed 4+ people. This makes it a requirement to setup... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent grill - exactly what I was looking for, June 8, 2009

This review is from: Fire Sense Notebook Charcoal Grill (Lawn & Patio)
I had been wanting a foldable grill and didn't even know they existed until I came across this one on Amazon. It not only saves TONS of space on my small patio but it delivers in quality of food too! I've had a few bbq's with this grill so far and the quality of food has been phenominal. I find the easiest thing to do is to buy one of those small charcoal bags that all you do is light it - no need to open the bag. It fits perfectly in this grill. The cleanup is very easy and not messy at all. And I absolutely love that it folds up to be about 1/2" wide. It takes up no room at all on my patio. I gave up my Weber big grill for this one - great decision!!! I highly recommend this grill as it is great for serving about 6 good sized burgers and about 4 hot dogs on the grill at the same time. When I had it delivered at my job - a couple of co-workers had me open it and display it for them. Then after that weekend of testing it out, I reported the good news to them and they bought it too. If... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars BBQ, July 22, 2010

It's an OK grill. Can't be moved with ease once lit. It's good for trips to the park with the way it folds up when not in use. I DON'T like the holes in the bottom because the coal dust falls out and this item cannot be put on say something (grass) that can go on fire. With the hole in the bottom there should be some sort of tray to catch the burned out coals that fall. I'm somewhat disapointed.

This tool is quite necessary if you buy the Craycort cast iron grate because you need a way to lift the grate sections to add or move coals. I think the item is a bit over priced for what it is and, in fact, just last week I found a beautiful old one in an antique store for $2.50. These were used a century ago when women cooked on wood stoves and needed a way to lift the burners--same exact thing. I think that one could find a much cheaper (and prettier) substitute at a flea market or antique shop but that said, having a tool like this is definitely a MUST with a cast iron grill.

Very good accessory for the Craycort grill grates. Makes for easy removal of individual sections a snap. I would recommended this for anyone that uses the cast iron grill grates.
