Weber Q Series Portable Gas Grill

Ready, Set, On the Go

Now you can have all the fresh, grilled flavors you love anytime, anywhere with Weber's convenient, portable gas grill. Choose from simple and compact to ultra-convenient and loaded with features.

Weber's Original Gas Grilling System

Notice how sturdy the shroud feels as it opens smoothly on its hinges? See how the burners roar to life on the very first try? Delighted by how simple it is to achieve a mouthwatering meal every time? It's no accident. Weber spends countless hours perfecting the grilling systems on its gas grills, assuring easy assembly, an evenly heated cooking surface, and precision controls so you can tone things down or up to the perfect heat level for direct or indirect cooking.

Cookbox and Shroud

The cookbox houses the components of the cooking system: cooking grates, burner tubes, and the grease management system.

Made of cast aluminum, Weber's gas-grill cookboxes are durable, efficient, require minimal care and maintenance, and can withstand the heat needed to grill at any temperature. In addition, the shape of the cookbox, when combined with the shroud, allows for the proper circulation of heat around food for even cooking whether you're using direct or indirect heat.

Cooking Grates

Weber gas-grill cooking grates come in three exceptional materials: porcelain-enameled steel, stainless steel, and porcelain-enameled cast iron. Each type retains heat evenly and sears food beautifully. Porcelain-enameled steel cooking grates are durable and easy to clean. Stainless steel rod cooking grates make lovely sear marks, hold heat very well, and clean up with ease. Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates combine the ease of porcelain-enameled with the superior heat retention of cast-iron.

Burner Tubes

Weber's burners are made of high-grade stainless steel, which will stand up to the small amounts of water found in liquid propane and natural gas. The burner tubes are made of a singular piece of steel with no welds, making them stronger and more resistant to rust and burn-through. Weber gas-grill burner tubes can be cleaned easily by gently brushing with a Weber stainless-steel grill brush.

The burners are spaced to provide heat across the entire cooking grate. The burner valve has infinite control settings, so you can fine-tune the heat levels.

Grease Management

When juices drip off the meat, they funnel down into the grease management system. The grease management system consists of an angled grease tray and catch pan. The grease tray rests beneath the cookbox a safe distance from the burner tubes to prevent the grease from catching fire. Grease is channeled down the grease tray and into the catch pan. Both the grease tray and catch pan are easy to clean. The tray easily slides out of the cabinet for cleaning, and when the catch pan starts to fill, simply remove the disposable drip pan, toss it in the trash, and replace it with an empty pan.

The Q 200 Portable Gas Grill

As part of the Weber Q series, the Q 200 portable gas grill provides a 280-square-inch cooking area, and it includes a 12,000-BTU stainless-steel burner, push-button ignition, and an adjustable burner valve for just the right amount of heat. The grill also comes with a porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grate, a drip pan, and two folding work tables with tool hooks. Ideal for grilling at the beach, in a park, when camping, or at home, the portable unit runs on a 14.1-ounce or 16.4-ounce LP cylinder (sold separately). Made with a cast-aluminum lid and body with a glass-reinforced nylon frame and a titanium-color painted finish, the grill measures 24-2/7 inches long by 51-2/5 inches wide by 26 inches high and carries a five-year limited warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 Year, Long Term Update, A+, August 14, 2008

This review is from: Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable 280-Square-Inch 12000-BTU Liquid-Propane Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
I am writing this long term review because as so many reviews are just initial impressions when the product is new. They are hard to find, but some people will write a review later in the product's life cycle, especially if they have had problems. This is not one of those "problem" reviews. The Weber Q is my all time favorite grill.

Background Info:

I bought my "Q" back in 2004 when they first came out; there were only two models at the time, the Q and the Baby Q. The overall design theory and execution of a portable gas grill was amazing in my eyes - like nothing I had ever seen before. I was in the market for a gas grill, and the portable nature yet still nice enough to grill on a daily basis design sold me instantly. I had used my dad's Weber gas grill since he bought it new in the mid 90's (comparable to today's Genesis models) and was impressed in every aspect, especially the longevity and quality of the components compared to "big box store"... 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for apartment dwellers and for those with small families, August 11, 2008

This review is from: Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable 280-Square-Inch 12000-BTU Liquid-Propane Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
I had owned a Weber Q100 for a couple of years and loved it. Recently someone decided that they were more worthy of owning it than I was and they "liberated" it from me. Oh well.

I thought about several other options for a replacement and settled on the Q200. There is a Q220 but it looks like the only feature that you get for the extra money is a thermometer built into the lid (the lid may be built a bit higher according to the description but I couldn't tell for sure). The Weber 300 is in a similar shape but it is more of a conventional grill with a cart and a 20lb. tank. I bought the Q200 for these reasons:

* I can use it on a cart or take it with me if I go somewhere and want a grill with me

* It has enough grill space for a meal for 4-6 people, plenty for my needs

* The fold-out shelves are really convenient

* I really loved my Q100 and I thought that I should stick with a winning, proven design

I bought... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable with Big cooking space, June 13, 2008

This review is from: Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable 280-Square-Inch 12000-BTU Liquid-Propane Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
Don't let the portability of this grill fool you. It cooks big and for many people at one time.

It take either the green camping propane bottles or hook it up to a 20 lb tank with the adapter hose (Recommended). The cool thing is if your big tank runs out without warning you can cook 2 or 3 meals with the camping Coleman propane until you get it filled.

Temperature control is great. You can get it real hot for searing steaks or low to roast whole chickens.

I don't know why anyone would buy a cheap import grill when you can have a weber Q 200 that will cook the same amont of food and have complete portability. This is a great little grill.
