This grill pan works just as advertized, but even with the special cleaning brush, it is hard to clean. I was hoping to just be able to pop it into the dishwasher and get out a shiny clean basket. That doesn't happen, but it works perfectly for its intended use. I use it fairly regularly, but it isn't the cookware of my dreams...

Product Description

The Table Top Grill and Side Fire Box 2-2424 is a charcoal grill or side smoker. It is interchangeable from a grill to a smoker (once changed it cannot go back to a grill). The primary cooking surface is 250 square inches. The grates are cast iron. It features a sliding drawer for easy access to coals and/or ashes. The ash pan dumps easily. Chargriller "Always Well Done".

I bought one of these for a standalone grilling use. I was extremely impressed. Assembling The grill DID require me to
CAREFULLY read the instructions as it came with parts for standalone operation as well as for a firebox
application. Hence, parts will be left over depending on the application it is set up for. But, what really impressed me was the grates. They were
made of heavy duty cast iron like I find at public parks. This meant they hold heat and do a great job of
searing meat. The box is constructed of heavier gauge metal than a lot of grills. Making the
grill last does require some PM. I cover ny grill when I leave it outdoors. (I simply use a garden
trash bag), Instructions call for oiling the outside of the grill with olive oil, Doing this
semiannually DOES make a difference in the appearance. Since the wooden handle is not varnished, and even if it was, the
varnish would weather in time, covering with the bag keeps the... Read more

Purchase this item because it had cast iron grills. Very important that you season them before using the grill. I like the sliding tray to add additional charcoal or wood chips, very convenient.

Cooked thick porterhouse steaks on it, got a nice crust on the outside & medium-rare in the middle. Also smoke a 5lbs pork butt, Hawaiian Style with tea leaf, got pulled pork with a nice smokey favor. Haven't tried to cook fish yet, Miso-Butterfish (black cod) should taste real good on this.

If you are going to attach this to your grill and use it as a smoker you are in for a mess. The process to removed the vents are no where near as easy as the instructions claim. You will run the risk of ruining the whole box. Best bet is to find a grill with the smoker already attached and save yourself the headache.

Product Description

This small space smart living barbeque gas grill offers quality and performance with its 30,000 total BTU's and its 547 total square-Inch of cooking space. The older version of this grill has already been reviewed at this link: http://www.amazon.com/Dyna-Glo-DGP350NP-D-Smart-Living-Two-Burner/dp/B004SKMZZQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. For this new grill, Dyna-glo seems to have considered the few shortcomings highlighted by those previous reviewers. The side tables now incorporate handy, very solidly constructed, utensil pegs. The other noticeable change is the ignitor button. I don't know how the older one worked but I assume, since they changed its configuration, it works better under the new design. At any rate, it works just fine. This grill is solid. The only cheapy, plastic, lightweight parts--as previously noted in at least one of the older reviews--are the knobs that regulate the flow of gas to the burners. Once they're attached and the grill is operational, however, you won't notice how lightweight they are. The grill "feels" well appointed and muscular.
